An innovative new furniture brand combining established quality with contemporary design & affordability

Outstanding design and craftsmanship are the hallmarks of iconic Danish furniture company CARL HANSEN & SØN, but seeing an opportunity to utilise their experience and network to offer tailored, quality furniture that is beautifully designed but accessibly priced, we were asked to establish a new brand within their portfolio.

This new brand, grown under the wing of its iconic family name, is positioned as part of the CH&S family. With the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm it has gained, it is ready to launch its own portfolio of premium designer furniture to the contract market. A more youthful, accessible range, driven with the same passion for design and designer collaboration, executed with trusted quality, but with a more adaptable business model and versatile scope.

By selecting the name StudioCHS there is a tangible link to its heritage, showing loyalty to the values that underpin great design and furniture but with a mindset to be progressive and innovative in thinking and approach. However, we wanted the design identity of StudioCHS to have a strong visual contrast. The layout and design style puts product at the core, supported by bold typography, minimal, contemporary layout, & dynamic colour palette. Process, materiality, technical drawings and specifications become an integral part of that story and design language.

Our scope of work included strategy, naming, brand identity and graphic styling, tone of voice and copywriting, resulting in corporate stationary, promotional material and website styling.
